Welcome to Visie Afrika

The Visie Afrika Bible school campus is located around 25kms outside Hoopstad in the Free State province of South Africa. At Visie Afrika Bible school, students are personally and intentionally discipled and mentored in order to prepare them for ministry in Africa. We believe that equipping people for ministry entails a lot more than theological studies. A person's personal relationship with God, his moral character and integrity, as well as his interpersonal relational skills are essential in preparing for ministry. Our three year accredited Diploma in Theology is done through our affiliation with the Nazarene Theological College (NTC), which is Evangelical in its teaching and emphasises the importance of repentance and a life of sanctification. Another key aspect of the training material is the fact that the students must apply the information to their own lives and ministry contexts.

Discipleship in a multicultural community setting

Our campus is located in a quiet environment outside town, which allows students to focus on their studies and their walk with God without the usual distractions and temptations of life in a city.  This learning environment is further enhanced by the multicultural community life on the campus, where students from various African countries and cultural backgrounds learn to deal with cultural and interpersonal differences in a real life situation. Both staff and students at Visie Afrika view Jesus' call to discipleship as central to our own equipping for ministry, but also the strategy we want to use to equip others to walk with the Lord.  If your desire is to be a disciple of Jesus, and to make other disciples of Him, then we at Visie Afrika would be honoured if we could be part of that journey in your life

Birth of Visie Afrika and the development of the Bible school campus

In 2008 Mr Pieter Ferreira and his wife Koba sensed a clear call from God to stop farming and to start a Bible school. Over the next two year Mr Pieter Ferreira and his brother Adriaan relocated their farm workers to town, and turned the housing complex into a Bible school campus. The facilities include dorms for male and female students, living quarters for lecturers and visiting speakers, a kitchen and dining area, a lecturing hall, library, office building, computer room, etc. The first batch of students started their studies in 2011 and most of them are now in their 3rd year of studies.
